Have you ever tried flaounes,it's a Cyprus traditional food . If you haven't tasted yet you have to taste it is delicious. For the flaounes, you have to make the cheese filling and the yeast dough. For the yeast dough you need flour ,baking pouter, mehlebi  , masticha,sugar,oil and milk. For the cheese filling you need cheese, semolina ,yeast ,eggs, mehlebi ,masticha ,sugar,baking pouter,minced mint and raisins. First for the cheese filling you grate the cheese one or two days previously. You have to put it to a open bowl and you  put in to the fridge .Next you beat the eggs very well with the semolina and the and the cheese. After that you make a hole in your mixture and you put the yeast in and you throw little egg over the yeast and you knead it with your palm and the same time you add some cheese to tie the dough .The next day you additive the other ingredients and the cheese filling is ready. But the filling have to prepare 4 or 5 hours before the dough.Now for the dough you have to mix the flour with the baking pouter and the masticha with the mehlebi and the sugar.Next you put the oil and the milk, you put the dough out of the bowl and knead it with your palm. the other day you have to take little of the yeast dough and you spread a sheet and you put little of the cheese filling to the center of the sheet and you wrap the sheet to shapes the most times to triangles and squares .When your cheese filling and your yeast dough is endingyou have to open the oven but before you put your flaounes to the oven you have to spread some egg and sesame for a beautiful color. Then you roast them to the oven for 40-50 minutes and your flaounes are ready .

THE GOOD MONDAY MY FAMILY AND I CLEANED THE HOUSE. AFTER THAT WE  BOUGHT NEW  CLOTHES AND MADE  FLAOUNES ,KOULOURIA,TSOUREKI.

AT THE GOOD FRIDAY MY MUM DYED THE EGGS RED , PEOPLE WENT TO THE CHURCH AND KOWTOW EPITAFIOS  IN THE END OF  EPITAFIOS WAS CARRIED IT AROUND THE STREETS.

ON EASTER SATURDAY  CHURCH STARTED AT 11 P.M . AT MIDNIGHT CHRIST RESURRECTION . PEOPLE LIGHT OUR EASTER CANDLE WITH HOLLY LIGHT. CHURCH FINISHED 

AT 3:00 A.M. AFTER THAT PEOPLE  WENT TO THEIR HOUSE AND THEY EAT LEMON AND EGG SOUP.

On,Holy Week I helped  my mother to clean the house.I ate a lot of fasting food.They were delicious.

On good Friday I went to the church and we decorated the epitafios.After the church we went  parade around the area listening to the orchestra. 

On Saturday , early in the morning, we went to the church.Late in the night, oround 11 pm,the bells of the church started ringing.We celebrated Christ's ressurrection at midnight and we got the holly light.Ouside the church we saw a lot of fireworks.They were beautifull.

After that we went home and we ate a delicious soup made with eggs and lemon.Then we cracked red dyed eggs and we ate flaounes.

It was a very interesting week.

    Easter holidays finished. I can't forget the Holy Week because I spent it in my village.

All the family cleaned the house and then my mum and my grandma baked cheese pies called flaounes.                        

After that we went to the shops and bought new clothes.

    In Good Friday the villagers decorated Epitafios and then we went to the church and followed the Epitafios

who was carried around the streets. After that my mum and I dyed hardboiled eggs 

    In Easter Saturday the church bells started ringing at 11pm and celebrate Christ's resurrection at midnight.

Then we burned Judas and after that we lit our Easter candles and we took it home.

    In Easter Sunday we roasted pieces of lamb on the spit and stuffed vine leaves called koupepia.

Then we went to the church yard and the villagers and played traditional games and traditional dances.

                                       This year my Easter Holiday were exciting!!!!

During the Holy Week, we cleaned the house and bought new clothes. Also we baked cheese pies called flaounes, koulouria and tsourekia!!

On Good Friday we decorated Epitafios.Epitafios was carried around the streets…!! On Good Friday we also dyed hardboiled eggs…!!!!

Easter Saturday is my favourite day.Church bells started ringing at 11pm, we celebrated Christ's resurrection at midnight….. Also we lit fireworks. Sparklers, fire crackers were let off and bonfire lit, we burned Judas… After that we lit our Easter candle and took it home…it is said that Easter light never dies!!! We greeted each other with Christos Anesti…Christ has arisen and others replied Alithos Anesti….Indeed he has arisen.!!!! In the end we ate egg and lemon soup, we cracked red-dyed eggs and eat flaounes.

On Easter Sunday, we went to my grandparents and  we roasted a whole lamp…pieces of lamp on the spit and koupepia, stuffed vine leaves…In the afternoon we went to Church yard and played traditional games like pulling the rope, swings,songs and traditional dances.!!!!!!!

If you aren't tasted yet you had to tasted because is delicious.The ingredients of this soup is chicken,rise,broth,lemon and salt.The direction of this soup is that : First you seethe the chicken until it is ready when it is ready you put out the chicken.After that you strain the juice and we but the rise into it to seethe.When the rise is ready you switch of the throttle and we strike the eggs and we adding the lemon and the juice until the eggs tie.Then we throwing in the pot we mix it and its done

 Easter in the USA is a major religious festival. Like most christian countries America celebrates Jesus Christ's resurrection after his death, many people also decorate eggs,but the USA has its own traditions, for example kids wake up at Easter morning and try to find a basket with candy left by the Easter bunny, then the kids go on an egg hunt, there are eggs hidden by the Easter bunny and the kids have to find them all. This how a lot of kids celebrate their Easter morning. Adults are the ones that usually paint and hide the eggs. A special dish for Easter in the USA is baked ham, potatoes, vegetables and cross buns. Each year the president of the USA invites more than 30000 people to the White House for the annual Easter egg roll. The egg roll is a race where children push an egg in the grass with a spoon the child to take his egg is the winner. 

 The Good Monday I and my mum cleaned the house. After that my sister I and my mum bought new clothes. The Good Thursday my mum dyed the eggs red.

In the morning of Good Friday I went to my grandma and we baked cheese pies called flaounes. In the evening of Good Friday my family and I went to church where we worship the decorated Epitafios. At the and Epitafios was carried around the streets.

In the night the church bells started ringing at 11pm, we wore our new clothes and we went to church and celebrated Christ’s resurrection at midnight. Outside the church there was a big bonfire and they burned Judas in it. We lit our Easter candles and we took the holly light home.

After the church we ate egg and lemon soup, and we cracked red-dyed eggs and we tasted my grandmas flaounes.

 On Holy Week we are in our village. My mum and I cleaned the house.We baked cheese pies called flaounes. 

  On Good Friday the girles decorated "Epitafios". Epitafios was carried around the streets and we helped to carry it. 

On Easter Saturday we go to church at 11pm and we finished at 2 o'clock.  After church we ate lemon soup.

On Easter Sunday we roasted pieces of lamb and chicken on the spit. We cooked taliatelles,potatoesand salad.   We played traditional games at the school. 

My Easter holidays were fantastic.

   Holy Week again . Only cleaned houses and in the village small baked cheese pies called flaounes . 

   On Good Friday only are in church for the Epitafios .Epitafios carried around the streets and in morning

   they dyed eggs red .

   Easter Saturday is very nice becuse  celebrated Christ's reurrection at 

midnight and after that we went to      home and eat lemon soup and flaounes and we cracked  red – dyed eggs .
